Symbiodinium transcriptome database. This database contains genomic sequences for two strains of Symbiodinium (Mf104b – clade B, and KB8 – clade A), the dinoflagellate symbionts of reef-building corals. Data are from the Medina Lab. These sequence data are useful for the coral genomics community and beyond.
NOAA Coral Reef Watch – real time coral bleaching. A daily 5-km Satellite Coral Bleaching Thermal Stress Monitoring Product Suite. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Coral Reef Watch program’s satellite data provide current reef environmental conditions to quickly identify areas at risk for coral bleaching, where corals lose the symbiotic algae that give them their distinctive colors. If a coral is severely bleached, disease and partial mortality become likely, and the entire colony may die.
CoRIS: Coral Reef Information System. CoRIS is the Coral Reef Conservation Program’s (CRCP) information portal that provides access to US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) coral reef information and data products with emphasis on the U.S. states, territories and remote island areas. Activities include coral reef mapping, monitoring and assessment; natural and socioeconomic research and modeling; outreach and education; and management and stewardship.
