From 2005 to 2022, the main node of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies was headquartered at James Cook University in Townsville, Queensland (Australia)
Robert is a Postdoctoral scientist using spatial modelling and geographic information systems to investigate resilience-based management for the Great Barrier Reef. He is based at the Marine Spatial Ecology Lab at The University of Queensland (UQ). Prior to this, Robert performed his PhD research on coral biology in response to acidification, warming and high or low light stress, through the UQ node of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies. He has experience in coral reef field research at Oahu in the central Pacific, Heron Island and the Keppel Islands. Robert has an MSc in Applied Mathematics (Imperial College London), and undergraduate science degrees from Macquarie University in Sydney. He was a 2013 Fulbright Scholar, a 2015 Endeavour Scholar, and has certifications and experience in scientific diving and boating.
