Nataly Gutierrez Isaza joined the Marine PalaeoEcology Lab at The University of Queensland as a PhD candidate on July of 2017. Nataly is from Colombia and she completed her Bachelor in Biology there; on the other hand, her M.Sc. in Natural Resources and Rural Development was developed in Mexico. She has an interest in reef dynamics and competition between hard corals and macroalgae, the causes of coral reef degradation as well as the traits involved in coral species adaptation to novel environmental conditions imposed by climate change. Under the supervision of Dr Jonh Pandolfi she completed a PhD investigating the ecological stoichiometry of coral larvae along the latitudinal gradient in eastern Australia. She is now a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Marine Palaeoecology Lab at The University of Queensland.
